When you think of maps online, you tend to think of MapQuest. The first MapQuest web site went online in 1996. During 2000, America Online (AOL) acquired MapQuest. Finding a map is very easy, just enter the address you are looking for in the search box and click on the "Get Map" button.

You can also use MapQuest to get driving directions between two addresses. Use the MapQuest Directions Search box to see how easy it is!

In 2003, MapQuest Mobile was launched for cell phones.

During 2005, two additional MapQuest cell phone services were added; MapQuest Find Me and MapQuest Traffic.

MapQuest Find Me - GPS-enabled maps, directions, and points of interest. Let your friends and family know where you are. MapQuest Find Me is a downloadable application for your GPS-enabled mobile phone. It allows you to pinpoint your location and find out what's nearby. You can also share your location with trusted people via text messages or the secure web site and get maps and driving directions to nearby places.

MapQuest Traffic - Real-time traffic information on your phone. MapQuest Traffic gives you immediate access to traffic reports right on your mobile phone. MapQuest Traffic features detailed maps with color-coded freeway overlays to indicate traffic congestion, accidents and construction. You can zoom in on maps for greater detail, quickly access congestion information for your favorite routes, and view estimated travel times between local landmarks.
